The other two bays have roller doors and there is a PA door on the side for easy access. There is a small shed/shack also on the property.

Next to the main shed is a green house, just the thing for raising seedlings or protecting frost tender plants over winter.

A large fenced vegetable garden (20 m x 18 m) has been established and the adjoining orchard consists of approximately 40-50 established fruit trees including mangos, citrus, figs, stone fruit, apples, nuts and other more unusual fruits. There is a substantial chook shed and run which wraps around 2½ sides of the vegetable patch.

There are internal fenced paddocks which we currently use for our house cows, but which would equally suit horses.

We have planted kikuyu grass around the house to entice the wallabies closer, but have left the remainder of the property to native grass cover.

It is not unusual to lie in bed at night and listen to a wallaby munching on the grass just outside the open sliding glass door of the bedroom.

The Extras

The gardens are watered by dam water which is pumped to a 5000 gallon header tank and gravity fed to taps placed strategically around the property.

Once the house was complete we then concentrated on the landscaping. Our two main priorities were to grow enough food to cover most of our needs year round and landscape around the house. The gardens around the house and shed have been planted with mostly native species to attract and provide a habitat for small birds, butterflies, native bees, frogs and lizards.

The main shed is a massive 10.5m x 12m. There are 3 bays, one is a drive-through bay with a 3.6w x 3.6h roller door at each end – perfect for the caravan or boat.
